i don’t think a lot of people understand how much sadness can consume you. it doesn’t matter where the sadness stems from, just like anxiety, it could be from a very unserious place but once it consumes you, it’s hard to leave. it stays. it clings to you, refusing to leave. it’s why i think all-the-time positivity is some weird bullshit. it’s why i raise my brows when pastors try to make their members feel small about feeling their emotions. i don’t think feeling sad because of a rejection will stop god from blessing you. i don’t think he’ll look at you like an ungrateful prick and take back his blessings. you are sad, baby, and god understands. it doesn’t mean you are ungrateful. it’s possible to feel gratitude and sadness at the same time. sadness isn’t some off and on stuff or a feathered emotion. sadness is heavy and it’ll consume you and you will feel helpless. so feel your feelings, baby. sit with them and ignore the outside noise.
